The challenges faced by hand transplant recipients and explained that "the donor hands and fingerprints, which were originally linked to the donor's identity, are now transferred to the recipient". Such a change, he wrote, causes problems with "bank transactions, land dealings, and travel-related requirements". While new ID verification technologies are quite advanced, they can still present difficulties. "These systems are getting smarter, using more data points and AI to function as appearances change. But they're still not foolproof. Major changes like weight loss, skin tone variation, or reconstructive surgery can throw them off. That's why multi-factor authentication — combining fingerprints, iris scans, and facial recognition — is recommended for better security and accuracy," says Ritesh Bhatia, cybersecurity and data privacy consultant.
All Transactions to Be Blocked if Biometrics Are Not Done

The Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) has said that all transactions would be put on hold for citizens by the end of this month unless the biometric fingerprinting process was completed. This came in a statement from PACI, which affirmed that the procedure was in line with top authorities’ directives. It urged citizens to complete the process before September 30th to ensure their transactions would go smoothly. The deadline for the biometric fingerprints for expatriates is set for December 30.

Dating app Hily Corp. was hit with a proposed class action alleging it failed to properly inform users that it was collecting and storing their biometric data and how it was using it. Hily unlawfully collected, obtained, stored, used, and disclosed users’ biometric identifiers and information, including facial geometry scans, without complying with the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Acts’s requirements, according to the lawsuit filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
