Public Policy Advocacy

Plans and organizes IBIA's public policy agenda to effectively advocate on member priority issues pending before Congress, federal agencies, and states.
Mobile Security & Privacy
Chair - Gary Toretti, AT&T
Focuses on identity issues within the mobile market and on engagement with mobile stakeholders about the role of identity management in the mobile sector that will contribute to advancing consumer and business acceptance of mobile devices.
Healthcare
Chair - Bud Yanak, Fujitsu Frontech
Focuses on identity issues in the health market and on engagement with stakeholders in the health sector on these identity issues.
Education & Outreach
Chair - John Mears, Lockheed Martin
Focuses on education and outreach about the efficacy of identity management solutions in mainstream business and government, addressing the positive benefits of identification technologies as well as the challenges posed by myths, false premises, misconceptions, and lack of information regarding biometrics and the identity sector. Draws upon the practical expertise of member organizations to develop and present information and educational material regarding the state of the art of the technology and the positive benefits to persons and society.
